Chet & Tom Hanks Parody Forrest Gump in New Music Video
Tom Hanks recently appeared alongside his son Chet in the latter’s latest music video, which acts as a parody of Tom’s iconic 1994 film Forrest Gump.
What happens in the Forrest Gump parody video?
The new music video comes from the group Something Out West, which is comprised of both Hanks and Drew Arthur, for their song “You Better Run.” The video sees Chet parodying various scenes from Forrest Gump, including dressing up like the character to offer chocolate to people on a bench, running across various landscapes, and more.
Later in the video, Tom Hanks appears on the bench alongside his son. Hanks isn’t dressed like Gump, but looks confusingly on at Chet as he continues singing.

Both Chet Hanks and Drew Arthur have been making music since 2016, when they performed under the name FTRZ. In 2020, they began performing as Something Out West and have released a handful of sings since.
Chet Hanks has also been jumping into the world of acting. After starring in Empire in a recurring role in 2018 and 2019, Hanks currently stars in the Netflix basketball comedy series Running Point, which premiered last month on the streaming platform.
