
Downton Abbey 3 Gets Title, New Poster for Hugh Bonneville Movie
Focus Features has officially confirmed the title for Downton Abbey 3, which will once again be led by Hugh Bonneville as Robert Crawley and Michelle Dockery as Mary. The studio has also shared a brand new poster featuring Dockery in a red gown.
Besides Bonneville and Dockery, the next installment will also feature returning cast members Elizabeth McGovern as Cora Crawley, Laura Carmichael as Edith, Jim Carter as Carson, Phyllis Logan as Elsie, Robert James-Collier as Thomas, Joanne Froggatt as Anna, Allen Leech as Tom, Penelope Wilton as Isobel, Lesley Nicol as Beryl, Michael Fox as Andy, Raquel Cassidy as Phyllis, Brendan Coyle as John Bates, Kevin Doyle as Joseph Moseley, Harry Hadden-Paton as Bertie, Sophie McShera as Daisy, and Douglas Reith as Dickie, with Paul Giamatti and Dominic West reprising their respective roles as Cora Grantham’s brother Harold Levinson from Seasons 3 and 4 and Guy Dexter from the 2022 movie.
What is the official title for Downton Abbey 3?
The third installment has now been officially titled as Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, teasing the final chapter to the acclaimed period drama film franchise based Julian Fellowes’ popular TV series. The upcoming movie is scheduled to arrive in theaters on September 12, 2025.

The film is directed by Emmy-nominated filmmaker Simon Curtis from a screenplay written by Fellowes. The next installment will also introduce new cast members Joely Richardson, Alessandro Nivola, Simon Russell Beale, and Arty Froushan. At the moment, further details about the third installment’s plot are still being kept under wraps, but it’s expected to include a “meaningful” tribute to the late Maggie Smith. It is produced by Fellowes, Gareth Neame, and Liz Trubridge. It is a production of Carnival Films, with Focus Features and Universal Pictures International distributing.
