The newly released trailer for Final Destination: Bloodlines has left fans emotional with the appearance of the late actor and horror icon Tony Todd. The sixth Final Destination installment, which will hit theaters on May 16, serves as Todd’s last on-screen role before his death on November 6, 2024. The actor was 69

Todd first played the William Bludworth role in the 2000 Final Destination movie and starred in succeeding installments, including in 2003’s Final Destination 2, 2006’s Final Destination 3, and 2011’s Final Destination 5.

Following the first look image of Todd’s return to the franchise, Warner Bros. has dropped the official trailer for the highly anticipated Final Destination: Bloodlines. Of course, fans took on social media to express their love for the late actor. 

Some fans also commented on the YouTube video itself, with one saying, “Absolute legend. I’m glad he got to be in this movie.” Another user wrote, “So glad Tony got to put his stamp on the world one last time with this. Even though he has been the bane of my nightmares for years. I great talent and a great actor. Phenomenal legacy.”

Apart from his role in the Final Destination franchise, Todd is best known for his portrayal of Daniel Robitaille in the Candyman film series including the 1992 Candyman movie, 1995’s Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh, 1999’s Candyman 3: Day of the Dead, and the 2021 Nia DaCosta-helmed direct sequel. 

The actor went on to star in a number of movies and television shows, with Final Destination: Bloodlines — directed by Adam Stein & Zach Lipovsky — serving as his last. 

“Plagued by a violent recurring nightmare, college student Stefanie heads home to track down the one person who might be able to break the cycle and save her family from the grisly demise that inevitably awaits them all,” the logline for the upcoming movie reads.

The film also stars Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Rya Kihlstedt, Anna Lore, and Brec Bassinger.

Final Destination Bloodlines hits theaters on May 16.
