Fantastic Four’s Pedro Pascal Jokes About Reed Richards’ Powers: ‘Everything Has to Stretch’

In the build-up to The Fantastic Four: First Steps‘ theatrical release, lead actor Pedro Pascal recently shared an interesting tidbit about his character’s powers in the movie. He portrays Mister Fantastic, aka Reed Richards, in the upcoming film, a character who can stretch his body parts according to his will. However, his powers remained suspiciously hidden in the movie’s first trailer, causing fans to question the reason behind this surprising creative choice from Marvel. While Pascal has confirmed that his character will be able to manipulate the shape of his body parts, he added that all areas of Richards’ body will be carrying this ability.

Pedro Pascal on if every body part of Mr. Fantastic could stretch in Fantastic Four

During Pascal’s recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Kimmel jokingly questioned Pascal whether Mister Fantastic will be able to stretch all his body parts in the film. Understanding the playful innuendo in Kimmel’s query, Pascal decided to go along with the quip and stated, “Everything has to stretch.”

Jimmy Kimmel then decided to take the joke a step further and pulled out a frame from the Fantastic Four comics that showcased Mister Fantastic in bed with his better half, Sue Storm, aka the Invisible Woman. In the sequence, Sue Storm seems to be praising Reed Richards’ powers in a suggestive manner as she says, “Have I ever mentioned what a…wonderful set of abilities you acquired from those cosmic rays?” The Last of Us star instantly deflected the situation by claiming that Mister Fantastic is actually an “incredible conversationalist in bed.”

While fans have gotten a glimpse of the powers of every other member of the Fantastic Four through the aforementioned trailer, they have yet to witness the true potential of Reed Richards. Nevertheless, such doubts should soon receive answers as the Matt Shakman-helmed project is currently on track to hit theaters on July 25, 2025.
