Regina Hall & More Join Amazon MGM’s Will Ferrell & Zac Efron Comedy Movie
Amazon MGM Studios has tapped two new cast members to join its upcoming Will Ferrell and Zac Efron comedy movie. The untitled project hails from Forgetting Sarah Marshall director Nicholas Stoller, who has already collaborated with Ferrell and Efron in the You’re Cordially Invited movie and Neighbors film franchise, respectively.
The film will be directed and written by Stoller. It will also be produced by Stoller for Stoller Global Solutions and Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum and Alex Brown for Gloria Sanchez Productions. This marks Efron’s latest project with Amazon MGM Studios, after starring in last year’s Ricky Stanicky with John Cena.
Who is joining the untitled Will Ferrell and Zac Efron comedy movie?
Regina Hall (Scary Movie, Girls Trip) and Jimmy Tatro (American Vandal) have been enlisted to star opposite Ferrell and Efron in the untitled comedy. This will reunite Tatro with Ferrell and Stoller, after the recently released family comedy You’re Cordially Invited, which was also led by Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon.
“The film follows a young convict (Efron) fresh out of prison who takes a reality TV courtroom hostage blaming the megalomaniac TV judge (Ferrell) for a past ruling that the convict feels ruined his life,” reads the synopsis.
Hall’s most recent role was in the musical drama movie O’Dessa, with Sadie Sink playing titular character. She will next be seen starring opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in Paul Thomas Anderson’s next directorial feature One Battle After Another. She is also attached to reprise her role as Ryan Pierce in a long-in-development Girsl Trips sequel.
