John Wick Co-Director David Leitch To Direct Action Heist Movie
John Wick co-director David Leitch is currently developing an untitled action heist movie with Amazon MGM Studios. Leitch will be directing from a screenplay written by Mark Bianculli (Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector).
This comes after the Deadpool 2 filmmaker directed Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt in last year’s action comedy movie The Fall Guy, which was loosely based on the 1980s TV show of the same name. He also just recently produced Universal Pictures’ Love Hurts movie, which served as Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan’s first major movie project as the solo leading man. Besides the untitled heist project, Leitch is also currently attached to direct Andrew Garfield in the upcoming miniseries Hot Air. Last month, it was also revealed that Leitch is in negotiations to direct Warner Bros.’ Ocean’s 14.
Who else is involved in John Wick co-director David Leitch’s heist movie?
The untitled heist movie will be produced by Leitch and Kelly McCormick through their 87North production banner. It will also hail from producers Brian Grazer, Jeb Brody and Allan Mandelbaum of Imagine Entertainment. Bianculli, who’s also serving as an executive producer, and Imagine have reportedly been developing the project for “the better part of a decade.”
The story will reportedly revolve around “a group of savvy bank robbers who use social media to document their heists, playing a cat-and-mouse game with police.” At the moment, the project has no cast members and no official release date attached to it yet.
