Jurassic World Rebirth’s Unused Scene From Jurassic Park Novel Revealed

It was previously revealed that the upcoming Jurassic World Rebirth will feature unused material from the original novel that the 1993 film was based on. Now, we know what scene it is.

What unused scene will be adapted in Jurassic World Rebirth?

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, producer Frank Marshall revealed that the upcoming movie will adapt the infamous T-Rex chase scene from Michael Crichton’s 1990 sci-fi novel.

The scene, for those unfamiliar, sees Alan Grant and John Hammond’s grandchildren Tim and Lex trying to float through a lagoon on a rubber raft, all while trying to not wake up a sleeping T-Rex. Things go poorly, as they often do in Jurassic Park, leading to a big chase scene.

Coincidentally, the scene was also a big inspiration for the Universal Studios ride Jurassic Park: The Ride.

Jurassic World Rebirth is set five years after the events in Dominion, revolving around a new environment that is now deemed inhospitable to dinosaurs. It is directed by Rogue One: A Star Wars Story filmmaker Gareth Edwards and written by original Jurassic Park screenwriter David Koepp.

“Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind,” the synopsis reads.

Scarlett Johansson (best known as Black Widow in the MCU) stars as the skilled covert operations expert Zora Bennett, while Bailey (Bridgerton, Wicked) plays paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis. The rest of the cast includes Mahershala Ali as Duncan Kincaid, Rupert Friend as Martin Krebs, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Reuben Delgado, Luna Blaise as the eldest daughter of Reuben, David Iacono as Reuben’s son, Audrina Miranda as Reuben’s youngest daughter, Ed Skrein, Philippine Velge, and Bechir Sylvain.

Jurassic World Rebirth will be released in US theaters on July 2, 2025. It comes from Universal Pictures.
