Jared Leto Likely To Join Assassination Movie Cast With Al Pacino

The much-discussed movie Assassination is reportedly close to adding another Hollywood A-lister to its star-studded cast with Jared Leto. The mystery thriller follows the journey of dedicated crime reporter Dorothy Kilgallen, portrayed by Jessica Chastain, who makes it her life’s mission to uncover the truth about the enigmatic murder of President John F. Kennedy. According to recent reports, Jared Leto could soon be joining the lineup of Barry Levinson’s Assassination.

The Academy Award winner is currently in talks to land a part in Barry Levinson’s upcoming film. While the deal has yet to be finalized, it seems to be progressing well.

The update was reported by Deadline. However, it has not been specified which role Leto would be playing if he was cast.

Aside from Jessica Chastain and the possible addition of Jared Leto, Assassination also features other industry heavyweights, including Al Pacino, Brendan Fraser, and Bryan Cranston. With the exception of Chastain, however, nothing else is known about the characters that each actor will be playing.

Levinson’s upcoming film revolves around Chastain’s Dorothy Kilgallen, who takes on the Herculean task of locating every perpetrator involved in the killing of John F. Kennedy. Convinced that the prime suspect, Lee Harvey Oswald, did not commit the crime on his own, Kilgallen makes use of her affluence to get to the bottom of the truth. However, she encounters several threats on the way, including the CIA, and the FBI, as well as scheming mafia bosses.

While Assassination has yet to announce its final cast, the movie will be co-scripted by David Mamet. Corey Large, Nicholas Celozzi, and Jason Sosnoff will produce the film. Meanwhile, John Burnham, Bernie Gewissler, Pia Patatian, and Jordan Nott will serve as executive producers. Assassination will begin filming in Boston sometime in 2025. The film also does not have an official release date at the time of writing.
