Dune Star’s New World War I Movie The Fallow Few Sets Release Date, Watch Trailer | Exclusive

ComingSoon can exclusively reveal the release date for The Fallow Few, starring Dune: Spice Wars’ Christopher Bonwell.

The upcoming World War I movie is based on the true story of British officer Sub-Lieutenant Edwin Dyett, who was court-martialed for desertion following the Battle of the Somme. The Fallow Few will be released in UK theaters on October 23, 2026.

The upcoming WWI drama is written and directed by JR Rappaport. In the UK, the film will be shown at Vue cinemas, Everyman cinemas, Picturehouse cinemas, and others. Following that, it will arrive on Digital on November 3, 2026, courtesy of Archstone Entertainment.

What do we see in The Fallow Few trailer?

The trailer begins with Christopher Bonwell playing Edwin Dyett, a disillusioned soldier at the Western Front. A quick montage shows him being tasked with guarding British deserters on death row, while struggling with the idea of disobeying his superiors.

“I hope our film does justice to the complexities of conversations around how Veterans are treated, both then and now,” said Rappaport. “Bringing the film to communities across the UK and beyond is a way to honor what these young men endured alongside their descendants, while celebrating the spirit of independent cinema.”

Besides Bonwell, the film stars Bradley James, Luke Brandon Field, Sir Tony Robinson, Ashleigh Reynolds, and Louis Davison. Bonwell previously voiced Count Fenring in 2022’s Dune: Spice Wars. He has also starred and voiced characters in Metaphor: ReFantazio, The Pharaoh’s Tomb, Love Through a Prism, Up Againt It, and more.

The Fallow Few also won the Audience Choice Award for Best International Film and the Jury Award for Best Independent Feature at the Sedona International Film Festival this year. Since then, the film has received awards at the Boston Film Festival, the Toronto Independent Film Festival, and more.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled with the film. We believe this picture will resonate beyond just fans of historical films or fans of the war genre,” said co-producer Jake Seal of ORWO Studios. Shannon Chandler and Patrick B. Lyons serve as executive producers. The film is produced by Rappaport, Seal, and Kevin Marshall.

The film’s release will also support partnerships with the Poppy Appeal and The King’s Trust. The organizations support former Armed Forces personnel and disadvantaged young people, respectively.
