Miami Vice: Michael Mann’s Director’s Final Cut Sets 5-Disc 4K UHD & Blu-ray Release Date

Miami Vice is getting a new home-video release for its 20th anniversary. Radial Entertainment is bringing Michael Mann‘s The Director’s Final Cut to a five-disc 4K UHD and Blu-ray Collector’s Edition. The new version features changes to the film’s editing, visuals, sound, and ending.

Miami Vice: The Director’s Final Cut (Collector’s Edition) will arrive on December 15, 2026. The new cut combines elements from the original theatrical master and Mann’s first Director’s Cut. It also incorporates previously unused dailies footage. Mann has refined select scenes, changed the order of certain sequences, and significantly recut the ending.

The Director’s Final Cut will debut at Beyond Fest 2026 in October. Mann supervised and approved the new presentation, with scene-by-scene adjustments made to its picture and sound. The new cut has a runtime of 133 minutes. The theatrical cut runs for 132 minutes, while the original alternate cut runs for 139 minutes.

The film follows undercover detectives Sonny Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs, played by Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx. The pair investigate drug trafficking and murder in South Florida. The case turns personal when Crockett begins a romance with the Chinese-Cuban wife of a drug and arms trafficker. Meanwhile, Tubbs deals with an attack involving someone close to him.

What’s included in the Miami Vice Collector’s Edition Blu-ray set?

The five-disc collection includes the Director’s Final Cut and theatrical cut in both 4K UHD and Blu-ray formats. The first disc features the Director’s Final Cut in Dolby Vision and 2160p Ultra HD. It has a 2.40:1 widescreen presentation and English DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and 2.0.

The second disc contains the theatrical cut in 4K UHD with Dolby Vision. The third and fourth discs feature Blu-ray versions of the Director’s Final Cut and theatrical cut.

The fifth disc contains the original alternate cut with optional audio commentary from Mann. It also includes Miami Vice Under Cover, Miami & Beyond: Shooting on Location, and Visualizing Miami Vice. Three behind-the-scenes featurettes cover gun training, the Mojo race, and Haitian hotel camera blocking. The set also includes the theatrical trailer.

The Collector’s Edition comes in a rigid slipcase and will be available from Shout Select on December 15, 2026.
