Adam Carolla & Jane Lynch’s Critically Acclaimed Comedy Movie Is Now Free to Watch

A highly acclaimed sports comedy movie featuring Adam Carolla is now available to watch for free. Helmed by Charles Herman-Wurmfeld, the 2007 film also includes Jane Lynch (Glee) and Christopher Darga (Maneater), among others.

Adam Carolla’s The Hammer is now free to watch on the official YouTube channel of Lionsgate Movies.

When the film originally came out nearly two decades ago, it mostly received positive reviews. Currently, it holds a stellar Tomatometer score of 82% and a fantastic Popcornmeter score of 90% on Rotten Tomatoes.

What is The Hammer with Adam Carolla about?

The Hammer sees Adam Carolla playing a 40-year-old construction worker, Jerry Ferro, who was once a promising boxer. One day, he loses his job and also his girlfriend, played by Constance Zimmer.

However, a new hope emerges for Ferro when a famous boxing coach, Eddie Bell, notices him at a local gym. He offers him an opportunity to train for a spot on the U.S. Olympic boxing team. Notably, the character of Bell was played by a real-life boxing coach, Tom Quinn.

Initially, Ferro seems disinterested in being a part of training due to his growing age and out-of-shape build. However, he decides to go for it after getting motivated by his friend and co-worker Oswaldo Sanchez, played by Oswaldo Castillo, and a lawyer named Lindsay Pratt, played by Heather Juergensen, who catches Ferro’s attention at the gym.

The Hammer’s ensemble cast also featured Harold House Moore (Secrets, NYC 22), Jonathan Hernandez (A Million to Juan, Friendship’s Field), Scott Adsit (Big Hero 6), Paul Lincoln Alayo (The Mule, Cry Macho), and John Enos III (Over the Line), among others. The story was co-written by Carolla and Kevin Hench (Road Hard).

What makes the movie intriguing to watch is the fact that Ferro’s life is actually based on Carolla’s real-life experiences as a construction worker and a boxing coach in Los Angeles.
