New Avengers: Doomsday Project Gets Early Release Date Ahead of the Movie

The studio has announced the launch of Countdown to Avengers: Doomsday Official Podcast, which will premiere later this month. The five-episode series will revisit major MCU moments ahead of Avengers: Doomsday.

Marvel announces new Avengers: Doomsday podcast with MCU star

Marvel Studios have revealed a new podcast that will feature Ms. Marvel star Iman Vellani ahead of the release of Avengers: Doomsday. Called Countdown to Avengers: Doomsday Official Podcast, the five-part series will revisit major MCU films that lead into the upcoming Avengers movie, with Vellani serving as co-host alongside Frank Alvarez.

The first episode will be released on August 27, followed by a new episode each week. Alvarez and Vellani will look back at key MCU films, discussing memorable moments from the movies and their overall impact.

The podcast will conclude with an episode dedicated to Avengers: Endgame. It is scheduled for September 25, coinciding with the theatrical release of Avengers: Endgame Encore. The series will be available on Disney+ and YouTube, while its audio edition will be released on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and other podcast platforms.

Vellani joins the project after portraying Kamala Khan across multiple Marvel productions. She debuted as the character in the 2022 Disney+ series Ms. Marvel and returned for The Marvels the following year. In addition to her screen work, Vellani has written for Marvel Comics, including Ms. Marvel: The New Mutant and Ms. Marvel: Mutant Menace.

The podcast will arrive ahead of Avengers: Doomsday, which is scheduled to premiere in theaters on December 18, 2026. Joe and Anthony Russo are directing the film, with Robert Downey Jr. returning to the MCU in a new role as Doctor Doom. The movie will feature characters from several Marvel franchises, including the Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men.
