Tiffany Haddish, Julia Fox, & More Lead Narcos Creator’s The Deputy Action Movie Trailer
The official trailer for action-thriller movie The Deputy is here, featuring William H. Macy and Tiffany Haddish, among others. It is directed by Matt Sukkar, who has previously worked on projects such as 2023’s Bleeding Love and 2020’s Project Power.
The official synopsis for The Deputy reads, “Chief Kreuger (William H. Macy) assigns rookie Deputy Toby Sawyer (Duke Nicholson) to guard a dead body. But when the corpse vanishes, Toby launches a frantic search that unearths decades of small-town rot. Pressured to look the other way, Toby finds a lone ally in Deputy Amanda Jackson (Tiffany Haddish) and sets his sights to unravel a lethal web of corruption to clear his name in a town where secrets stay buried.”

The Deputy follows a deadly game of power and betrayal
The Deputy trailer shows a rookie deputy, Toby Sawyer, struggling to prove his worth to Chief Kreuger. With the help of Deputy Amanda Jackson, and no one else, Toby soon starts uncovering a hidden crime mystery of corruption while trying to clear his name in the town.
The cast also includes Stephen Dorff (Old Henry, Gunslingers), Billie Lourd (The Last Showgirl, Ticket to Paradise), and Julia Fox (Him, Uncut Gems). The story is written by Carlo Bernard, who happens to be one of the co-creators of the hit TV series Narcos.
The upcoming film was originally announced two years ago and marks Matt Sukkar’s feature directorial debut. The producers on the project include David Lipper, Robert A. Daly Jr, Mark Canton, Dorothy Canton, Ryan Winterstern, Hicham Benkirane, and Brendan Thomas. Carlo Bernard, Victor Gischler, and Daisy Burnham are serving as the executive producers.
The Deputy releases in theaters, on digital, and on demand on September 25, 2026. The R-rated crime drama comes from Well Go USA Entertainment, the studio behind Triple Threat, Train To Busan, and the Ip Man franchise.
