Emma Stone & Chris Pine’s The Catch Expands Its Cast With Major Hercules Star

Emma Stone and Chris Pine‘s upcoming romantic comedy, titled The Catch, is shaping up to be a star-studded affair with a new casting update adding more supporting players. The upcoming project has reportedly added two new high-profile actors to its lineup, including one who made their feature film debut in the 2014 Dwayne Johnson movie Hercules.

Irina Shayk and Chris Fleming join cast of Emma Stone and Chris Pine’s next movie

According to a recent report published by Deadline, supermodel-turned-actor Irina Shayk and comedian Chris Fleming have joined the cast of Emma Stone and Chris Pine’s upcoming movie The Catch.

Universal Pictures, which is distributing the film, has yet to release any information regarding its plot or characters. However, fans do know that the project will be a romantic comedy set against a baseball-themed backdrop.

Stone, McCary, and Ali Herting are producing The Catch through Fruit Tree’s first-look deal with Universal Pictures, with Shawn Levy and Dan Levine assuming a similar role under the 21 Laps banner. Michael H. Weber is also a producer on the project, with Robin Fisichella executive producing. The film will be helmed by Brigsby Bear director Dave McCary from a script by Jen Statsky and Travis Helwig.

For Universal, Senior EVP Production Development Erik Baiers and Director of Production Development Jacqueline Garell are overseeing the feature. Notably, the concept of the movie initially originated from the minds of Patrick Kang and Michael Levin.

In addition to Emma Stone, Chris Pine, and the recently announced Irina Shayk and Chris Fleming, the upcoming Universal movie will also star Tim Robbins, Sissy Spacek, Ashley Padilla, and Druski, among others. Fleming’s association with Universal comes in the wake of his recruitment for the Judd Apatow-Glen Powell comedy The Comeback King, which is scheduled to hit theaters in February 2027.

While details of The Catch’s production remain scarce at the moment, the movie is reportedly on track to premiere on the big screen on May 21, 2027.
