How Anthony Mackie caught Tom Holland off guard during Spider-Man: Brand New Day filming

Explaining how Anthony Mackie managed to crash Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s set, Tom Holland mentioned that he was working at the Pinewood studio where Avengers: Doomsday shoot was also taking place.

While Holland was shooting for Brand New Day, Mackie was busy doing his scenes for Doomsday, and that’s when the Captain America star decided to make a surprise visit. He added, “We were both filming at Pinewood. So Avengers (Doomsday) was across the way and Spider-Man: Brand New Day was on the east side or west side of the property. And yeah, I was shooting the scene and then Mackie just walks in.”

However, the British star was not distracted by Mackie crashing his set. In fact, they both “had a good time. It’s nice to catch up. He looks great in his costume.”

Spider-Man 4 will also feature Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk, and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher. Former Stranger Things star Sadie Sink is also playing a very crucial role in the film.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theaters on July 31, 2026.
