Spider-Man & Venom MCU Crossover Update Gives Tom Holland & Hardy Fans Hope
Spider-Man and Venom might finally come together in the MCU. Despite Venom being one of the wall-crawler’s most iconic villains, the two have never met in the MCU.
But that could change after Kevin Feige shared a hopeful update. While promoting Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Feige recently appeared on the Happy Sad Confused podcast. During their discussion, the Marvel Studios president was asked by Josh Horowitz about a possible crossover between Tom Hardy’s Venom and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.
Feige replied, “Always have hope.” Amy Pascal, who was also present on the show, chimed in, saying, “I have hope. We have hope.”
Both characters have headlined their own film franchises, though they have yet to share the screen. However, there is still no official confirmation on whether fans will get to see the dream crossover.
Fans have been wanting a proper Spider-Man and Venom crossover since No Way Home
The idea of Venom and Spider-Man crossing over has been teased several times. In the post-credits of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Eddie Brock and Venom were shown watching Tom Holland’s Spider-Man on television. The scene immediately excited fans.
Later, in the post-credits scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Hardy was shown drinking at a bar where he learned about the MCU. In the end, when Doctor Strange’s spell resulted in Hardy’s Venom going back to their universe, a small trace of the black symbiote was left behind in the MCU.
Since then, fans have waited for the crossover to happen. Tom Holland has also expressed optimism about the possibility. When asked by his young fans whether he would fight Venom, the 30-year-old actor said, per IGN, “One day, I’m sure. We’ll get to see the Symbiote.”
Marvel Studios is currently preparing for the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the movie is scheduled for a July 31, 2026 release.
