The Last Sunrise Trailer Teases an Unexpected Twist for Maia Reficco & Fernando Lindez
Prime Video has released the official trailer for The Last Sunrise. It gives a glimpse of a summer romance between Maia Reficco and Fernando Lindez. Reficco stars as Ry alongside Longoria as Isolde Pera and Fernando Lindez.
Carlson Young directs the film from a screenplay by Anna Khelessan, with Todd’s novel serving as the source material. Amazon MGM Studios presents the film, with Jennifer Gibgot, Lena Roklin, Andrew Panay, Brian Pitt, and Todd producing.

What awaits Maia Reficco and Fernando Lindez in The Last Sunrise?
The Last Sunrise is based on Anna Todd’s bestselling novel. The film follows Ry, a college student with a chronic illness, who heads to Mallorca to spend the summer with her mother. Her plans take a different turn when she meets Julian, a local who soon becomes a major part of her life. However, as their bond grows, Ry’s declining health and secrets from her family’s past threaten to disrupt the summer and the romance she expected.
The Last Sunrise follows the success of the After series. The author also founded Frayed Pages Media in 2017 to develop such projects across films, television, and publishing. She previously worked as a producer and screenwriter on the After film adaptations and Regretting You, based on Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel.
Speaking to Teen Vogue, Todd described the experience of working with new characters as “so refreshing,” adding that seeing Ry and Julián come to life was “so fun and fulfilling.”
Director Carslon Young, meanwhile, focused on capturing the beauty of Mallorca while staying true to the center for romance. Speaking to Teen Vogue, Young said Ry and Julián are “two people meeting at vulnerable, pivotal times in their lives” as they question what they thought they knew and develop a deeper understanding of love.
The Last Sunrise will stream globally on Prime Video on August 26.
