Chris Pratt & Brie Larson’s Non-MCU Billion-Dollar Hit Is Finally Releasing on Streaming
After a successful run in theaters, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is preparing to make its streaming debut. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is heading to streaming after completing its theatrical run, with Peacock confirming that the animated sequel will join its library later this month. The film will be available to stream on July 30, 2026, giving audiences another opportunity to watch it.
Released in U.S. theaters on April 1, 2026, the sequel was directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic from a screenplay by Matthew Fogel. However, their peaceful routine is interrupted when Bowser Jr. attacks Rosalina’s Comet Observatory, hoping to use her cosmic abilities to create a devastating weapon.
Forced to leave the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario, Luigi, and Peach embark on a galaxy-spanning rescue mission. Their journey takes them across the galaxy, introducing new worlds, fresh dangers, and familiar characters.
The voice cast features Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Glen Powell as Fox McCloud, and Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr.
Despite becoming another major commercial success, the sequel received a mixed critical response. On Rotten Tomatoes, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie has a 42% critics’ score based on 224 reviews. Meanwhile, the audience responded much more positively, giving the film an 88 percent audience score.
According to Box Office Mojo, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie has grossed more than $1 billion worldwide. The film has grossed over $429 million domestically and approximately $580 million internationally.
