The Jason Statham movie has added a Mission: Impossible actress to the cast. In the action-comedy, he will play a fictionalized version of himself. The film is still in the early stages of production, with more casting announcements expected in the coming months.
Who has joined the cast of the movie where Jason Statham plays himself?
According to a recent Deadline report, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning star Hannah Waddingham has joined Statham’s adventure-comedy Jason Statham Stole My Bike. The upcoming film is directed by David Leitch, and the screenplay has been written by Alison Flierl.
Waddingham is the second official cast member revealed after Statham. Best known for playing Rebecca Welton in Ted Lasso and Septa Unella in HBO’s Game of Thrones, her acting credits include Sex Education, Hocus Pocus 2, The Woman in Cabin 10, Krapopolis, and The Fall Guy. The Primetime Emmy Award winner can currently be seen in the TV miniseries Ride or Die alongside Octavia Spencer.

The cast members’ details and the show’s plot are being kept under wraps, as production is still in its early stages. However, more details can soon be expected as the production is ongoing. The movie will see The Meg actor “in the role of a lifetime, playing global action superstar Jason Statham.”
Moreover, the movie will include several action sequences. However, it will be conceived as a PG-13 movie with a comedic edge. Apart from writing the screenplay, Alison Flierl also co-wrote the story with Scott Chernoff. Leitch will also serve as the producer alongside Statham, John Friedberg, Meredith Berg, and Ethan Erwin.
The upcoming adventure comedy film marks the second collaboration between Leitch and both Statham and Waddingham. Statham previously worked with him on Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, while Waddingham featured in The Fall Guy opposite Ryan Gosling.
Jason Statham Stole My Bike is set to release on August 6, 2027.
