X-Men Casting Rumor Suggests Major Star Wars Actor Will Play MCU Villain

The upcoming X-Men reboot from Marvel Studios may have cast a Star Wars actor as its villain. Following more than a dozen films, the mutants will receive a fresh reboot in the MCU.

Who is rumored to have been cast as a villain in the new MCU X-Men movie?

Scooper MyTimeToShineHello has claimed that Marvel Studios has cast Adam Driver, known for playing Kylo Ren in Star Wars, as the villain of the X-Men reboot. It should be noted that this is only a rumor, and it should be treated as such at this time, as Marvel Studios has not officially announced Driver’s casting. The scooper did not share which character Driver will play in the film.

Previously, the same scooper claimed that Marvel Studios’ top choice for Mister Sinister was Wagner Moura. If the Adam Driver rumor is accurate, it could suggest either that Mister Sinister is not the film’s primary villain or that Driver has replaced Moura as Marvel’s preferred choice for the role. Regardless, it remains to be seen who shows up in X-Men, as Marvel has yet to officially announce a single casting for the film.

At the time of writing, various rumors have pointed to Inde Navarette and Odessa A’zion being the studio’s top choices for a critical role. Sadie Sink has been rumored to be playing Jean Grey in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and she may be joined by another Stranger Things alum.

Before the reboot, fans will see the legacy mutants back in action in this year’s Avengers: Doomsday. The X-Men will share the screen with the Avengers and Fantastic Four for the first time in live-action cinematic history in the film. Marvel is also currently airing the second season of X-Men ’97 on Disney+.

The X-Men reboot currently doesn’t have a release date.
