Peacock is expanding its library with 2025’s highly rated spy movie from acclaimed director Steven Soderbergh and Focus Features. As of today, Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender‘s spy thriller Black Bag is finally available to stream on Peacock.

What do we know about Cate Blanchett & Michael Fassbender’s Black Bag movie?

Black Bag was directed by Soderbergh, with David Koepp writing the screenplay. In the film, Blanchett and Fassbender played a married couple and elite spies whose relationship is tested when one of them is suspected of treason. The ensemble cast also includes Pierce Brosnan, Regé-Jean Page, Marisa Abela, Tom Burke, Naomie Harris, Regé-Jean Page, Ambika Mod, Gustaf Skarsgård, Kae Alexander, and more. Since its debut, the film has received a Certified Fresh score of 96% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 290 reviews.

“The film is a gripping spy drama about legendary intelligence agents George Woodhouse and his beloved wife Kathryn. When she is suspected of betraying the nation, George faces the ultimate test – loyalty to his marriage or his country,” reads the movie’s official synopsis.

Black Bag was produced by Gregory Jacobs and Casey Silver, with Koepp serving as an executive producer. In addition to starring, both Blanchett and Fassbender were also credited as associate producers. The creative team included director of photography Peter Andrews, composer David Holmes, editor Mary Ann Bernard, production designer Philip Messina, and costume designer Ellen Mirojnick. During its theatrical run, it only grossed over $43 million against a budget of around $50-60 million.
