The Angry Birds Movie 3 Trailer Gives Jason Sudeikis’ Red His Greatest Challenge Yet

The first trailer for The Angry Birds Movie 3, featuring Jason Sudeikis’ Red, has been released. It comes a week after a slew of first-look images teasing its story were unveiled.

The film’s short synopsis reads, “This holiday season, one angry bird will face his greatest challenge yet, surviving fatherhood… while saving the world!”

What do we see in The Angry Birds Movie 3 trailer?

The Angry Birds Movie 3 centers on Red’s struggles with parenthood, and the trailer wastes no time in showing that. While the footage opens by teasing a gladiatorial match, it quickly subverts expectations as Red drops his kids off at school. Red is trying to be a cool dad, but his eldest son, Glider, starts naming other birds who are cooler than him. This includes several celebrity-inspired name puns, including LeSwan James, Hendaya, Timothee Quailamet, and Ryan Gosling. Red’s other challenges include trying to keep his youngest hatchling, Olly, out of danger from messing with household appliances. Elsewhere, his daughter June begins showing signs of adolescence while ignoring her father.

The trailer also features appearances from Bomb, Chuck, and Porkchop, with a hilarious scene showing the former duo trying to deal with Olly’s diaper problems. For an Angry Birds movie, there is a distinct lack of appearances from the Pigs in the trailer. The film arrives seven years after The Angry Birds Movie 2.

The Angry Birds Movie 3 is directed by John Rice, based on Thurop Van Orman’s screenplay. The film stars Sudeikis, Rachel Bloom, Josh Gad, Emma Myers, Walker Scobell, Psalm West, Danny McBride, James Austin Johnson, Anthony Padilla, and Ian Hecox. The film will also feature special voice performances from Keke Palmer, Tim Robinson, Lily James, Marcello Hernandez, MrBeast, and more. The film is produced by John Cohen, Dan Chuba, Carla Connor, and Namit Malhotra.

The Angry Birds Movie 3 releases in theaters on December 23, 2026.
