Avengers: Endgame Gets New Title for Theatrical Rerelease Ahead of Doomsday
Avengers: Endgame is heading back to theaters with a new title. The movie returns ahead of Avengers: Doomsday to offer fans more than just another chance to watch the Infinity Saga finale.
What is the new Avengers: Endgame title for the movie’s rerelease?
Disney and Marvel are rereleasing Avengers: Endgame with a brand new title called Avengers: Endgame Encore. The retitled Infinity Saga finale will include the original film along with newly added footage, according to Deadline. This will be released ahead of Avengers: Doomsday on September 25, 2026.
Besides the new footage, the rerelease will feature a custom introduction and a special end tag for Infinity Vision and IMAX screenings. This announcement was made during CineEurope, where Disney also announced the Infinity Vision, a new premium exhibition format that will be used to screen both Avengers: Endgame Encore and Avengers: Doomsday.
The rerelease will bridge the gap between two Avengers films, as told by Joe Russo, “It’s critically important to rerelease the movie, and, in fact, we’ll be re-releasing the film with footage that is set in the Doomsday story that we have added to Avengers: Endgame. It’s an opportunity to create a bridge from Endgame to Doomsday in a very unique way, and because the movie was so successful, we have an opportunity to re-release it.”
Avengers: Endgame Encore is scheduled for worldwide release on September 25, 2026. The rerelease will feature the same cast as the original film, with Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, among many more. However, since there is no information on what the additional footage will be about, some cast members from Doomsday can be expected to make a cameo in the rereleased movie.
Avengers: Doomsday will be out in theaters globally on December 18, 2026.
