Weapons’ Aunt Gladys Actor’s Bull Street Gets Trailer With Release Date

Buffalo 8 recently unveiled the Bull Street trailer, providing a glimpse at the story. Featuring Amy Madigan, who played Aunt Gladys in Weapons, the movie will release next month.

Buffalo 8 has released the trailer for Bull Street, while also setting its release date for July 17, 2026. The movie will arrive on TVOD platforms like Amazon, Fandango at Home, and Verizon Fios, as well as on local cable networks. Pre-orders open on June 19 on Fandango at Home.

The official opening night film at the 2024 Sarasota Film Festival, it tackles themes of legacy, resilience, and generational conflict. Set in Puckney, a small South Carolina town, the story follows LouEster Sadie Gibbs. She is a small-town lawyer raised by her strong-willed and formidable grandmother, Mrs. Big-Gal.

Gibbs soon finds herself in a complicated and intense courtroom battle. This is after an Ivy League attorney challenges her family’s claim to their home and land. Judge Motley presides over the case where legacy and privilege collide. Accordingly, she is forced to determine whether generations of history are enough for Big-Gal to secure her birthright.

Lynn Dow wrote and directed Bull Street. She also produced with Wendy Tannock through their banner, Up the Road Films. Meanwhile, Buffalo 8 co-founders Matthew Helderman and Luke Taylor executive-produced. Moreover, Anne Dudley created the original score for the movie.

Weapons star and Oscar-winner Amy Madigan plays Judge Motley. She stars alongside Emmy winner Loretta Devine, who portrays Mrs. Big-Gal. The latter previously had roles in movies such as Waiting to Exhale and Crash, as well as in shows like Grey’s Anatomy.

Also featuring are Malynda Hale as LouEster Sadie Gibbs, Arielle Prepetit as the Ivy League attorney, and Gary Ray Moore, whose credits include House of Cards.
