New Spider-Man 4 Sadie Sink MCU Theory Has 1 Huge Problem

There’s one huge problem with a theory regarding who Sadie Sink will play in the MCU. The theory in question found new life following a new trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. However, there is one reason above all among the many reasons why this particularly fan theory seems unlikely.

New Spider-Man 4 Sadie Sink MCU Theory Has 1 Huge Problem

Most of the popular theories regarding Sadie Sink’s MCU role involve Jean Grey, aka Marvel Girl. Beyond Sink resembling the classic image of the telepathic hero as a pale-skinned redhead, Marvel Studios has been teasing the introduction of Mutants and the X-Men into the MCU. However, another theory centers around an obscure villain known as the Spider Queen.

First introduced in 2004’s Spider-Man: Disassembled crossover, Spider Queen was originally a US Marine named Adriana Soria during World War II. Her unit was chosen to serve as unwitting test subjects in America’s earliest studies of the effects of radiation on humans. Adrianna was the sole survivor of this experiment, developing a number of superpowers.

Chief among these was the ability to telepathically control humans who had “the insect gene.” Her ultimate goal was to kill every human she couldn’t control. This led her to claim Spider-Man as her mate and mutate him into something more easily manipulated. As a result, Spidey developed organic web-shooters. She later returned as the main villain of the 2011 Spider Island event.

The core of the Sadie Sink as Spider Queen theory centers around a few points in the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailers. Chief among these is her apparent telepathic abilities and only Peter Parker being able to track her. Additionally, the trailers show Peter mutating into something more spider than man. However, there are several problems with this theory.

Biggest issue with the Sadie Sink Spider Queen theory comes from Avengers: Doomsday

Oddly enough, the biggest piece of evidence Sadie Sink is not playing Spider Queen does not involve Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Sink has also been confirmed as playing a role in Avengers: Doomsday. It seems unlikely she’d be playing a Spider-Man villain in the next Avengers movie. While it is possible she’s playing different characters in each film, it seems unlikely given how Marvel Studios operates, with the notable exception of Robert Downey Jr. playing Iron Man and Doctor Doom.

Beyond that point, there are several other reasons why Sadie Sink is probably not playing Spider Queen. The character is obscure and hasn’t left a lasting impression on Marvel Comics despite being the chief villain of two events. She’s not popular with the few fans who remember her, if only for her origin story saying spiders are insects rather than arachnids. The movie is also already full of classic Spider-Man antagonists, including The Punisher, Boomerang, Tombstone, Scorpion, and Tarantula.

Additionally, the only reason Spider Queen was created was to give the Peter Parker of the comics organic webs. This was to make the comics’ Spidey more like the one played by Tobey Maguire in the 2002 Spider-Man movie. There is some irony in this, given the MCU Peter Parker was shown to have the classic web-shooters; something studio executives originally considered it unlikely a teenager could build. Additionally, there were storylines before the Spider Queen based around Peter Parker mutating and most of them were far simpler. Given all that, it seems highly unlikely that Sadie Sink is the Spider Queen.
