Batman’s Most Important Ally Gets a First Look in Part 2 Photo

A first look at Jeffrey Wright’s Jim Gordon from The Batman Part 2 has dropped on social media. Wright was previously announced to be returning as Batman’s iconic ally by director Matt Reeves. The Batman Part 2 is currently filming and is expected to be released in October 2027.

Jeffrey Wright, who plays the role of Jim Gordon in The Batman and its sequel, shared the first look at his character in Part 2.

Wright posted a close-up image of Gordon’s famous mustache and wrote in the caption, “It begins again. You know what time it is.” The Batman 2 is currently filming, and the first looks at many of the characters set to appear haven’t been revealed yet. Since the start of the filming, director Matt Reeves has been sharing images from the set on his social media account.

Apart from Wright, the movie will star Robert Pattinson as Batman alongside Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Andy Serkis, Charles Dance, and Brian Tyree Henry, among others. While fans are familiar with the returning characters, Stan and Johansson’s roles are still under wraps. Many believe that Stan and Johansson will play Harvey and Gilda Dent, respectively. However, there is no confirmation regarding this yet.

Wright previously spoke to The Playlist and shared his take on returning for The Batman 2. He stated, “It’s been a joy to be back together with him and to remember this kind of vibe that we found together, and we kind of just picked it up pretty much instantly again.” Wright further lauded the script penned by Reeves and said, “I can say this, and I can’t say much, Matt Reeves has written an absolutely insanely brilliant script.” He also praised his co-star Pattinson, calling him a “wonderful actor” and “super generous.”
