Tom Cruise’s Divisive Supernatural Movie Finds New Streaming Home
Nearly a decade after its theatrical release, a Tom Cruise action-adventure film is set to arrive on a popular streaming platform next month. The film came out in 2017 and garnered a mixed reception, despite boasting a stellar cast that also includes Russell Crowe. It will now be available to stream online come July.

The Mummy starts streaming on Hulu in July
Tom Cruise’s supernatural action film The Mummy is set to reach a new streaming audience next month. According to Hulu Press, the 2017 blockbuster will join Hulu’s library on July 1, 2026.
Directed by Alex Kurtzman, The Mummy was released in theaters across the United States on June 9, 2017. The film follows Nick Morton, a soldier of fortune. He makes a living by looting ancient sites and selling valuable artifacts. However, his life takes a dangerous turn after an ancient discovery in the Middle East leads to the return of Ahmanet, a powerful Egyptian princess who had remained buried for centuries.
After Ahmanet is revived, she begins unleashing her growing powers while pursuing a plan to enslave humanity. As destruction spreads through London, Nick must find a way to stop the resurrected princess before her rampage spirals further out of control. The film features Cruise as Nick Morton. The supporting cast includes Annabelle Wallis, Sofia Boutella, Jake Johnson, Courtney B. Vance, and Russell Crowe, among others.
Despite its The Mummy struggled to win over critics and audiences. The film currently holds a 15% critics’ score and a 35% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Kaitlyn Booth of Bleeding Cool reported, “The Mummy wants to be a horror movie, an action movie, and kick off an entire universe at the time same – and accomplishes none of those things.”
According to Box Office Mojo, the film grossed approximately $410 million worldwide.
