Spider-Man’s Tom Holland Teases a Batman Movie-Style Shift for Brand New Day
Tom Holland has revealed that Spider-Man: Brand New Day may take a leaf out of Batman‘s book. The highly anticipated MCU movie stars the acclaimed actor in the iconic role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man alongside Zendaya, and more.
What did Tom Holland say about Spider-Man: Brand New Day?
Tom Holland has teased fans of Spider-Man about what they can expect from the plot of Brand New Day. According to him, the story will feel more like a mystery-solving experience for Peter Parker, similar to Batman’s detective-driven stories.
In an interview with Esquire, Holland revealed that the team wanted to add extra layers of suspense to this movie compared to previous Spider-Man films in the MCU. He said, “This movie is a real mystery and for a large portion of the film, even Spider-Man is a little bit at odds and lost and is like, ‘What is going on?’ We’re just trying to find ways to make this movie feel like a detective movie.”
The Hollywood star also mentioned that Brand New Day is “the best Spider-Man movie that we’ve ever made.” His previous three standalone Spider-Man films have been well-received by MCU fans.
Interestingly, a few early reports from insiders have also indicated, based on test screenings, that Brand New Day is the “greatest Spider-Man movie”. However, everything should be taken with a grain of salt at the moment.
Speaking more of the movie, it will also feature Mark Ruffalo, who will reprise his role as Bruce Banner/Hulk. Sadie Sink will make her debut in the superhero franchise in a mysterious role. Recent rumors, however, have suggested that she might be playing none other than Jean Grey, a very popular and powerful X-Men character.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s cast also includes Jacob Batalon as Ned and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher. Michael Mando, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Marvin ‘Krondon’ Jones III will also appear in crucial roles.
