Aaron Pierre’s Green Lantern Could Look Very Different in Man of Tomorrow
Aaron Pierre’s John Stewart might have a very different look in Man of Tomorrow. The actor is set to make his DCU debut in the Lanterns premiere in August. Pierre will presumably wield the power ring in the Superman sequel following that.
Why might Aaron Pierre’s Green Lantern look different in Man of Tomorrow?
Pierre recently posted new photos on Instagram sporting a beard. With James Gunn currently filming Man of Tomorrow in Atlanta, it’s possible Pierre will join the production with the new look. If so, fans may get their first look at the actor in the movie once production moves to exterior locations.
It won’t be the first time that Jon Stewart has appeared in DC media with a beard. The DC animated universe featured Stewart with his signature goatee.
Lanterns will follow Jon Stewart and Hal Jordan investigating a mystery with major ramifications for the DCU. Rumors already point to a major death in the series. The show will also feature a cameo from Nathan Fillion returning as Guy Gardner from Superman. While HBO has yet to renew the show, an acclaimed creator has confirmed their involvement in a second season’s writers’ room.
Man of Tomorrow’s set videos have already spoiled one of the film’s major battles. The sequel will see David Corenswet’s Superman team up with Nicholas Hoult‘s Lex Luthor to face off against Lars Eidinger‘s Brainiac.

The Man of Tomorrow cast also includes James Gunn’s favorite Superman character, Adria Arjona, Andre Royo, and Daredevil’s Matthew Lillard in undisclosed roles. Superman’s super-powered cousin, Kara Zor-El, will also join the fight as Milly Alcock is reprising the role of Supergirl.
Lanterns will premiere on August 16, 2026, on HBO and HBO Max. Man of Tomorrow will be released in theaters on July 9, 2027.
