Top Gun: Maverick and Men in Black hold the top two spots on Pluto charts
As of June 10, Top Gun: Maverick holds the top spot on Pluto TV’s charts, while Men in Black ranks right after the action drama, according to FlixPatrol. The other entries on the list are Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, The Goonies, Pitch Perfect 2, Scary Movie, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, Men in Black II, Men in Black 3, and Scary Movie.
Notably, the data from FlixPatrol isn’t necessarily complete. However, it does give a broader picture.
Released in 2022, Top Gun: Maverick made $1.5 billion at the global box office (via Box Office Mojo) and currently holds a 96% approval rating on the review-aggregating site Rotten Tomatoes after 475 reviews. Jonathan Sim of ComingSoon gave the movie a nine out of 10 rating.
“It’s a welcome entry to Cruise’s long list of larger-than-life action movies,” Sim wrote. “This sequel is a marvelous labor of love that doesn’t tread any new, unpredictable ground with its story. Regardless, this movie offers exhilarating action, phenomenal dramatic weight from the stellar performers, and an experience tailor-made for anyone who feels the need—the need for speed.”
Meanwhile, Men in Black made $589.3 million at the box office and has a 91% approval rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. Its success led to the development of three more Men in Black movies.
