Scary Movie 7 Gets Strong Tease from Marlon Wayans, Could Parody These Horror Movies
Scary Movie 7 is already being discussed by Marlon Wayans, and he has teased some early details. The acclaimed actor, who has featured in the horror comedy parody franchise for over two decades, has dropped hints on potential horror blockbusters that the next installment may take a dig at.
What did Marlon Wayans say about a potential Scary Movie 7?
During the premiere of Scary Movie 6, Marlon Wayans surprisingly teased Scary Movie 7 while also naming two recently released horror hits that the next part will spoof.
Speaking with Variety, Wayans said, “wait for Scary Movie 7 and we will come back, and we’re going to get us some Backrooms and we’re going to get us some Obsession. Thank you guys, keep making the movies.”
Wayans’ comments suggest that a future Scary Movie installment could parody Backrooms and Obsession, given their popularity at the moment. Despite being made on lower budgets, these two films have become box office juggernauts in 2026. While Backrooms has made over $130 million worldwide, Obsession has raked in more than $165 million globally.
Also, it’s been a tradition for Scary Movie titles to parody the most epic and outstanding horror blockbusters ever made. For example, older installments took a dig at films like The Exorcist and Scream, and many more.
Speaking of the latest entry, Scary Movie 6, it has already mocked a lot of recent horror movies such as M3GAN, Weapons, Sinners, and Get Out in its promotional trailers revealed so far.
Scary Movie 6 is set to release in theaters on Friday, June 5, 2026. Besides Marlon, the cast also features other returning members, including Anna Faris as Cindy Campbell, Regina Hall as Brenda Meeks, Shawn Wayans as Ray Wilkins, Jon Abrahams as Bobby Prinze, Lochlyn Munro as Greg Phillippe, Dave Sheridan as Doofy Gilmore, and more.
