Liam Neeson & Joe Keery’s New Sci-Fi Horror Sets Streaming Release Date

Joe Keery and Liam Neeson‘s 2026 sci-fi horror movie Cold Storage has set its streaming release date. The movie originally debuted in US theaters on February 13, 2026. The film received mostly positive reviews on release, though it made little impact at the box office.

Cold Storage gets streaming release date on MGM+

Cold Storage premieres on MGM+ on July 15, 2026. The movie previously debuted on VOD and digital platforms on March 6, 2026 (via When To Stream).

Jonny Campbell, who previously helmed 2006’s Alien Autopsy, directed Cold Storage from a script by David Koepp, who based it on his own 2019 novel of the same name. The film’s plot revolves around two employees of a sealed facility who team up with a veteran Pentagon bioterror operative to face off against a mutating and highly contagious fungus. In the movie, Keery plays Travis “Teacake” Meacham, one of the storage facility employees, and Neeson portrays Robert, the veteran bioterror operative.

The movie’s cast also includes Georgina Campbell as Naomi Williams, the other storage facility employee, Vanessa Redgrave as Ma Rooney, Sosie Bacon as Dr. Hero Martins, Lesley Manville as Trini Romano, Darrell D’Silva as The Rev, and Daniel Rigby as Anthony.

Cold Storage currently has an 81% approval rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes after 105 reviews. Kim Newman of Empire Magazine praised the film, noting that it is “a clever, funny, suspenseful, interestingly cynical science-fiction horror movie with a great collection of monsters — courtesy of make-up geniuses Dave and Lou Elsey — and a cast whose enthusiasm is, appropriately, infectious.”

The film is Keery’s first project after the end of the hit Netflix series Stranger Things. He has since starred in the international horror feature Blood Covenant. Meanwhile, Cold Storage is Neeson’s first movie of 2026. He will next appear in the black comedy heist movie 4 Kids Walk Into a Bank.
