Worried Man of Tomorrow Fans Get Great News on Superman’s Suit
James Gunn has finally addressed the concern regarding Superman’s suit in Man of Tomorrow following days of fan speculation. After photos and videos from the upcoming film’s set went viral, many people feared it would use the same suit as the 2025 film. Gunn just put those concerns to rest.
James Gunn confirms Superman’s suit in Man of Tomorrow isn’t the same
On June 1, a fan shared photos and clips they took on the sets of Man of Tomorrow, which was being filmed in the streets of Atlanta. It showcased David Corenswet, who plays Superman, in the suit, suspended by a crane.
Seemingly due to poor lighting and nighttime filming, the images were of poor quality. But it was enough for some fans to think that the suit in the leaks looked very similar to the one used in the 2025 Superman film. Some eagle-eyed fans spotted minor differences. But it was still largely unclear what the suit upgrades were, if any.
Earlier today, a fan took the matter directly to the film’s director, James Gunn. On Threads, the fan asked him if Man of Tomorrow will feature the same suit as in the previous entry. The filmmaker replied, “No, not the exact same.”
The frenzy over the suit had intensified after a seven-month-old Reddit post went viral again. It showed the original suit was removed from the Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood exhibit. In its place, a note stated, “Superman costume currently being used by production.”
While the fans are yet to get a clear look at the new Superman suit, Gunn released the first look at Lex Luthor’s Warsuit. It boasts the same green-and-purple color scheme as the comic books. He captioned it, “Fit check. Live from the set of Man of Tomorrow.”
Man of Tomorrow debuts in theaters next year, on July 9, 2027. In it, Superman and Lex Luthor will team up to take on the cyborg supervillain Brainiac, played by Lars Eidinger.
