New Supergirl Posters Spotlight Lobo, Krypto, Kara Zor-El, & More

Supergirl’s new posters just dropped and Lobo is absolutely stealing the show. James Gunn shared five new character posters for the DCU’s next film, giving fans a closer look at Kara, Krypto and more.

Supergirl unveils new Lobo, Krypto and Kara posters

DC Studios head James Gunn has shared five new character posters for Supergirl on Instagram, spotlighting Kara Zor-El, Lobo, Krypto, Ruthye and Krem of the Yellow Hills. “They’re shaking up the summer,” Gunn wrote in his caption. The film arrives only in theaters and IMAX on June 26.

The posters arrive as the final promotional push for the DCU’s second film takes shape. Supergirl follows Kara Zor-El as she celebrates her 23rd birthday by traveling across the galaxy with her dog Krypto. Along the way, she meets young Ruthye Marye Knoll and encounters a tragedy that sends her on a quest for revenge.

Director Craig Gillespie has called the film a “road movie” that carries a darker tone than Superman. Writer Ana Nogueira’s screenplay explores the trauma Kara endured growing up on Krypton. Gillespie has named Logan, John Wick and The Fifth Element as inspirations for the project’s visual style and storytelling approach.

The story spans nine distinct worlds, each featuring their own unique languages and cultures. Milly Alcock learned five fictional languages for the role and rehearsed stunts for an hour each day before filming. Gillespie has estimated that between 50 and 60 different aliens appear across the film.

Jason Momoa stars as the alien bounty hunter Lobo, with Matthias Schoenaerts playing villain Krem of the Yellow Hills. Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham and David Corenswet also star in key supporting roles. Supergirl carries an estimated $170 million budget and runs 108 minutes.

Supergirl arrives exclusively in theaters and IMAX worldwide on June 26, 2026.
