KSI Reveals Why He Is Leaving Sidemen
KSI finally breaks his silence on why he’s walking away from the Sidemen after 12 years. The content creator revealed the personal struggles that led to his departure from the hugely popular YouTube collective.
Here’s why KSI is leaving the Sidemen
KSI announced his departure from the Sidemen in a YouTube video on May 31, 2026.
The British content creator called it the “hardest video I’ve ever had to make in my life.” He told his 18.4 million subscribers that he will no longer appear in Sidemen videos.
The 32-year-old spent over 12 years with the hugely popular seven-person collective. He described the group as his “second family” throughout the emotional video. KSI emphasized that “nothing bad has happened” and the decision remains “completely my own.”
KSI cited burnout and personal struggles as the primary reasons behind his exit. He stated he felt like he had been “running at full speed at 100 miles an hour.” He also admitted losing balance in his own life while trying to manage everything. He specifically mentioned struggling to find time for his family and partner.
The content creator acknowledged the group’s remarkable achievements over the years together. They sold out stadiums, broke records, and produced Netflix shows during their partnership. However, he firmly believes the Sidemen deserve someone who can fully commit to the project. He said staying would not be “fair on the boys” or the audience.
The remaining six members responded through an Instagram post shortly after his announcement. They revealed the news “came as a surprise to us” and wished him well. The group confirmed they will continue creating content, events, and shows without him.
According to their agent’s website, the Sidemen hold a combined audience of 47 million across platforms.
KSI concluded by expressing his need to focus on health and personal relationships. Forbes estimated his net worth at $23.9 million in 2023. He also ranked as the second top content creator that year, behind only MrBeast.
