Jared Leto’s Skeletor Sounds Unrecognizable in Menacing He-Man Movie Clip

New Masters of the Universe clip highlights Jared Leto’s Skeletor voice
Masters of the Universe movie hits theaters later this week, on June 5. Ahead of that, a brand new 49-second clip surfaced online, featuring its villain, Skeletor.
The clip begins with Skeletor calling Evil-Lyn, his second-in-command, while two of his men hold a soldier in the aftermath of a battle. The latter stands next to him and says, “Well said, Lord Skeletor. Poetry.” She could be referring to something the former might’ve said just before the feature scene.
In response, Skeletor says, “I’ve taken away his tears. Done.” After his men take away the captive, the villain continues, “With the new dawn, Eternia shall witness my rise.” He holds up his fist and laughs maniacally. In a hilarious twist, he abruptly stops when he realizes all of his men and Evil-Lyn are still standing there, watching him laugh.
After a moment of awkward pause, he says, “That’s it. I finished. When I raise my fist like that, I’m done. That is the crescendo.” Evil-Lyn nods and says, “I’ll know for the future, my lord.”
This blend of evil and comedy is quite faithful to Skeletor’s portrayal in the original animated series. Alongside his villainous schemes, he is also popular for his hilarious insults. Fans of the franchise are pleased with how the movie has retained this aspect of the character.
One user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, “Yes!! I was hoping they kept this side of Skeletor.”
A second user said, “Nah, this is so f—– peak. What the hell? I thought they were gonna make Skeletor some one-dimensional evil guy, but they’ve given him personality and made him a little bit of an idiot like the cartoons. This s— is PEAK.”
Another notable thing is that Jared Leto’s voice is completely unrecognizable. Fans are also happy with the actor’s performance as the character. “Jared Leto and Alison Brie understood the assignment. Skeletor and Evil-Lyn steal the whole damn thing,” a user wrote.
Masters of the Universe is directed by Travis Knight. Its cast also features Nicholas Galitzine, Camila Mendes, Alison Brie, James Purefoy, Idris Elba, Morena Baccarin, and Charlotte Riley, among others.
