Lex Luthor’s Power Suit Gets the Same Reactions From Man of Tomorrow Fans
James Gunn’s Lex Luthor Warsuit reveal broke the internet, but not everyone is impressed. Fans compare the Man of Tomorrow armor to everything from Master Chief to Buzz Lightyear.
Superman fans adore Lex Luthor’s Warsuit in Man of Tomorrow
James Gunn revealed the first look at Lex Luthor’s iconic Warsuit for Man of Tomorrow on Instagram. Nicholas Hoult will wear the comics-accurate armor in the upcoming sequel. The reveal suggests the suit will be at least partially practical rather than fully CGI.
In the comics, Lex Luthor developed the Warsuit through LexCorp to match Superman’s power. The armor grants superhuman strength, durability, flight, and energy projection capabilities. However, the first look reveals a different logo on the chestplate than LuthorCorp’s branding from the first film.
The Warsuit will likely play a key role in the sequel’s storyline involving Brainiac. Luthor and Superman reportedly share a “reluctant” team-up against Lars Eidinger’s Brainiac in the film. The armor gives Luthor the tools to actively fight alongside Superman without being instantly overpowered.
Fans on X responded with overwhelming excitement to the reveal. One user declared “Now THAT’s aura” after seeing the first look.
Another wrote “What can I say, I cooked” alongside comic comparisons.
One fan shared side-by-side artwork, writing “comic accurate once again.” An excited user’s post reading “NO F—ING WAYYYYYY, Y’ALL COOKED” racked up over 61,000 views. One fan account simply wrote “LOVE IT MR GUNN” in response to the reveal.
Several fans also drew comparisons between the Warsuit and other armored characters. One user noted, “This suit kind of looks like Master Chief from Halo.”
Another called it “a mix of Master Chief and Buzz Lightyear.” One fan jokingly wrote “Master Chief, you mind explaining to me what you’re doing in a power armour?” followed by “Sir, Uperman.” Another user humorously posted “Buzz would f him up.”
However, not all reactions were positive. One user argued, “The TV show had a better suit.”
Another claimed, “Lex Luthor’s armor from the 2013 Injustice game looked better lol.”
Superman: Man of Tomorrow is set to hit theaters on July 9, 2027.
