What Scarlett Johansson and Bill Murray movie is now on HBO Max?
As of today, Wes Anderson’s acclaimed stop-motion animated movie Isle of Dogs is finally available to stream on HBO Max. This served as Johansson and Murray’s third collaboration together after 2003’s Lost in Translation and 2016’s The Jungle Book. In the 2018 film, Johansson voiced a purebred show dog named Nutmeg, while Murray lent his voice to Boss, a baseball-jersey-wearing dog.
“When, by executive decree, all the canine pets of Megasaki City are exiled to a vast garbage-dump called Trash Island, 12-year-old Atari sets off alone in a miniature Junior-Turbo Prop and flies across the river in search of his bodyguard-dog, Spots. There, with the assistance of a pack of newly-found mongrel friends, he begins an epic journey that will decide the fate and future of the entire Prefecture,” reads the official synopsis.
Isle of Dogs was written and directed by Anderson. The star-studded voice cast also included Edward Norton as Rex, Bryan Cranston as Chief, Jeff Goldblum as Duke, Bob Balaban as King, Greta Gerwig as Tracy Walker, Akira Takayama as Major Domo, Frances McDormand as Miranda Nelson, Tilda Swinton as Oracle, Yoko Ono as Yoko Ono, Liev Schreiber as Spots, Courtney B. Vance as the Narrator, and more. When the film was released in theaters, it grossed around $73 million worldwide. It was also nominated for two Oscars, including Best Animated Feature and Best Score.
