Toy Story 5: Why Taylor Swift Fans Think She’s Involved With Sequel

The latest marketing for Toy Story 5 has got some fans thinking that Taylor Swift might be involved with the film. What appear to be references to Swift in new promotional media have sparked speculation online. Premiering in theaters later this month, the Pixar sequel will see the toys, now led by Jessie, meeting a new rival for their owner Bonnie’s attention: a frog-themed tablet named Lilypad.

Here’s why Taylor Swift fans believe she’s involved with Toy Story 5

Pixar has set up multiple billboards for Toy Story 5 in various cities to promote the movie. These include the initials “TS” and 13 clouds. Fans viewed both of these details as clues hinting at Taylor Swift’s involvement in some capacity. This is because 13 is the global superstar’s favorite and lucky number.

Aside from this, other hints have surfaced, giving the speculation some weight. Pixar shared a video on its Instagram account showing Jessie dancing in front of a billboard. They captioned the footage, “She’s making those moves up as she goes!”

Fans of the singer will recognize this as a reference to one of the lyrics in her 2014 single, “Shake It Off.” In it, she sings, “I make the moves up as I go (Moves up as I go).”

Around two months ago, fans noticed that her website featured a Toy Story-themed countdown, complete with a yellow font, blue sky background, and white clouds. Moreover, users who search for the singer on TikTok will see an animation where clouds from the film series float across the screen.

However, neither Disney nor Swift herself has officially confirmed whether she is voicing a character in the film. They have also not revealed if she has recorded a song for the film.

Toy Story 5 premieres in theaters on June 19, 2026. Andrew Stanton, who co-wrote Toy Story 4’s screenplay, directed the film, with Lindsey Collins producing. The former also developed the movie’s script with Kenna Harris.

Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, and Joan Cusack reprise their roles as Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Jessie, respectively, from the previous films. Other voice actors include John Ratzenberger, Wallace Shawn, Keanu Reeves, Greta Lee, Craig Robinson, and Annie Potts.
