Supergirl’s Lobo Popcorn Bucket Is Practically an Action Figure but Has 1 Big Problem

The Lobo popcorn bucket for Supergirl looks incredible, but fans spotted one glaring issue. The collectible bucket arrives at major theater chains ahead of the film’s release, though its design raises questions about practicality.

Supergirl’s Wild Lobo Bucket is cool but barely holds any popcorn

Culture Crave shared a new look at the Lobo popcorn bucket for Supergirl on X. The post quickly gained over 397,000 views and 2,700 likes.

The video shows the detailed Lobo figure pouring popcorn, revealing its tiny capacity. Fans on Reddit’s r/PopcornBuckets also reacted to the bucket’s impractical design.

The Lobo bucket will arrive at AMC, Regal, Cinemark, and other theater chains. It features a highly detailed sculpt of the alien bounty hunter from the upcoming DCU film. However, the bucket functions more like a collectible toy than an actual popcorn container.

One Reddit user wrote, “Frustrated it’s basically a toy more than a bucket.” Another commented, “That’s so little of popcorn. This better not be $60, it qualifies for $25.”

Jason Momoa plays Lobo in Supergirl, which Craig Gillespie directs and Milly Alcock stars in. The film adapts the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic book miniseries by Tom King and Bilquis Evely. It serves as the second installment in DC Studios’ Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.

Lobo does not appear in the original Woman of Tomorrow comic book series. James Gunn added the character to help adapt the story into a three-act structure. Gunn called Lobo “the biggest comic book character that’s never been in a film.” Momoa previously portrayed Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe from 2016 to 2023.

The popcorn bucket trend has increasingly moved toward elaborate collectible designs across major theater chains. Reddit users noted that recent buckets from franchises like Star Wars and He-Man share similar toy-like qualities. One user pointed out that comparable action figure toys retail for less than these themed buckets.

Warner Bros. Pictures will release Supergirl in the United States on June 26, 2026.
