The Russo Brothers shared two cryptic posts on Instagram that have fans speculating about the Avengers: Doomsday trailer.
The first post featured a solid green image, while the second revealed the Latveria logo associated with Doctor Doom. The directors tagged Marvel Studios, Avengers, Robert Downey Jr., AGBO, and SXSW in the latest post.
Fans quickly connected the green image’s hex code (#71826a) to a potential date. Several commenters on Instagram pointed to July 18, 2026, as a possible trailer launch date (via IGN). That date falls just days before San Diego Comic-Con 2026 kicks off. Having said that, the code or the shade itself is not confirmed, and this information should be taken with a grain a salt.
The Russo Brothers will appear at SXSW London on Tuesday, June 2, for two panels. They will host a Deadline Live Studio session at 2:15 pm BST and a second panel at 3:45 pm BST. An Avengers: Infinity War screening follows at 8:45 pm BST that same evening.
Any of those appearances could serve as an opportunity to debut new footage.
Joe Russo recently teased the film’s ambitious direction in an interview. “Doomsday is a complete reinvention, it’s another swing,” he said. “I don’t think the audience is expecting it at all, what happens in the movie, and its tone and its subject matter.”
He also addressed the continuation of familiar character arcs from previous Avengers films. “It’s very much this sort of unresolved aspirations of those characters and flaws of those characters,” Russo added. “It continues to unfold as we move into Doomsday.”
The movie arrives in theaters on December 18, 2026.
