Robert Downey Jr.’s $880M Action Movie Coming To Peacock Soon

A popular MCU movie featuring Robert Downey Jr. will arrive on Peacock soon. This addition comes just two months before the film franchise’s fourth installment hits theaters in July.

Spider-Man: Homecoming will be available to stream on Peacock starting Monday, June 1, 2026, per the streamer’s schedule.

Jon Watts helmed the film with a story from Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley. He also co-wrote the screenplay alongside the two writers and Christopher Ford, Chris McKenna, and Erik Sommers.

The story centers on Peter Parker/Spider-Man as he balances high school life after his role in Captain America: Civil War. Eager to become an Avenger and impress Tony Stark, Peter takes on a dangerous group led by Adrian Toomes, also known as the Vulture, that is using alien technology to make illegal weapons. However, things don’t pan out the way he had hoped. This results in Peter losing Tony’s trust and the Spider-Man suit.

Spider-Man: Homecoming’s cast features Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, Tom Holland as Peter Parker, Zendaya as MJ, Michael Keaton as Adrian, Jon Favreau as Happy, Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper, and Jacob Batalon as Ned, among others.

Sony Pictures Releasing distributed the film and released it on July 7, 2017. Upon release, it quickly became a success, receiving highly positive reviews for its fun tone, humor, and a fresh take on the web-swinger. Many people praised Holland’s performance for his believable portrayal of Peter’s awkward yet lovable personality.

On Rotten Tomatoes, it has maintained a critics’ approval rating of 92% and a user rating of 87%. Meanwhile, IMDb reports an average score of 7.4 from nearly 800K user votes. Furthermore, the film performed incredibly well at the box office. Made on a reported $175 million budget, it went on to make $880.9 million from global markets.

Naturally, sequels followed quickly. The second installment, Spider-Man: Far From Home, arrived in 2019, and the third one, Spider-Man: No Way Home, in 2021. Currently, a fourth film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is scheduled to premiere worldwide on July 31, 2026.
