Jason Statham’s $839M Action Movies Are Leaving Netflix Soon

Four Jason Statham high-octane action films are exiting Netflix’s streaming library next month. These films are part of the iconic action franchise written by David Callaham and Sylvester Stallone.

All four Expendables movies are leaving Netflix in June

Netflix will remove all four The Expendables movies from its platform on Saturday, June 20, 2026 (via What’s on Netflix).

David Callaham (writer of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) developed the original film’s script. He then co-wrote the screenplay with Sylvester Stallone, who also served as the director.

The franchise follows a group of elite mercenaries known as the Expendables, led by veteran soldier Barney Ross. They take on dangerous, high-risk missions that the government dare not touch. With each installment, the stakes get higher and more personal as the team faces betrayal from within.

The films are popular for their old-school action and ensemble cast of action stars from the 1980s onward. Across the four films, it features Jason Statham, Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Jet Li, Chuck Norris, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Harrison Ford, Tony Jaa, and Wesley Snipes, among others, in prominent roles.

The original film, The Expendables, debuted in theaters on August 13, 2010, and received a mixed-to-positive reception. Critics gave it a 41% score, while the audience rated it 64% on Rotten Tomatoes. Made on a budget of $80 million, it grossed $268 million globally.

The success led to sequels, which followed in 2012, 2014, and 2023, respectively. The Expendables 2 received unanimous praise, resulting in a 68% critics’ approval rating. However, the ratings for The Expendables 3 and Expend4bles fell significantly, reaching a low point of 14% for the latest entry. Moreover, the fourth installment also failed to be a commercial success, earning roughly $51.1 million globally on a $100 million budget. Cumulatively, the franchise has made nearly $840 million.

In 2022, the studio announced an all-female spin-off film, The Expendabelles, though it has yet to materialize.
