“After the daughter of Wang Wei is kidnapped by a criminal network and he receives no help from the corrupt police, Wei sets out on a rampage to find her himself,” reads the official synopsis. “His only ally is Navin – a relentless journalist whose wife has mysteriously disappeared. Fueled by a furious vengeance, the unlikely duo ruthlessly fights against the kidnappers in this explosive martial arts showdown.”
What does exclusive The Furious poster show?
The exclusive poster for The Furious was made by artist Khang Giate. It features an animated version of My Father Is a Hero star Xie Miao’s main character, Wang Wei, teasing one of the movie’s intense fight sequences. This ruthless scene was actually first teased in the film’s trailers, showing Wang Wei standing on top of goons while beating them down with a hammer.

The Furious also stars Joe Taslim, Yang Enyou, Brian Le, and Joey Iwanaga. It is produced by Bill Kong, Shan Tam, and Frank Hui. It is directed by Japanese filmmaker Kenji Tanigaki, who’s best known for his work on movies like Fist of Fury, Rurouni Kenshin, Hidden Man, and Enter the Fat Dragon. Mak Tin Shu, Lei Zhilong, Shum Kwan Sin, and Frank Hui co-wrote the movie’s screenplay.
The English-language Hong Kong film had its world premiere last year at the Toronto International Film Festival. Since then, it has garnered positive reviews from critics, like Cinema From the Spectrum, JoBlo, and Cinema Escapist, who have likened the movie’s vibe and fast-paced action to Keanu Reeves’s John Wick and Gareth Evans’ 2011 film The Raid: Redemption. It currently holds a 100% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 24 reviews.
