Timothée Chalamet’s Acclaimed 2024 Movie Hits HBO Max Today

One of 2024’s acclaimed music drama movies from Searchlight Pictures has finally found a new streaming home. As of today, the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown, starring Academy Award nominee Timothée Chalamet, is officially available to stream on HBO Max.

What do we know about Timothée Chalamet’s A Complete Unknown movie?

A Complete Unknown was directed by Logan’s James Mangold, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Jay Cock. In the film, Chalamet portrayed legendary musician Bob Dylan during the early 1960s, when he started as a folk singer. The movie currently holds an 82% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, while its Popcornmeter score is higher at 95%. It also received eight Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Director.

Against the backdrop of a vibrant music scene and tumultuous cultural upheaval, an enigmatic 19-year-old from Minnesota arrives with his guitar and revolutionary talent, destined to change the course of American music,” reads the official synopsis. “He forges intimate relationships with music icons of Greenwich Village on his meteoric rise, culminating in a groundbreaking and controversial performance that reverberates worldwide.”

The cast also included Edward Norton as Peter Seeger, Elle Fanning as Sylvie Russo, Monica Barbaro as Joan Baez, Boyd Holbrook as Johnny Cash, Nick Offerman as Alan Lomax, and P.J. Byrne as Harold Leventhal. The film was loosely based on author Elijah Wald’s book titled “Dylan Goes Electric.” Producers were Fred Berger, Mangold, Alex Heineman, Bob Bookman, Peter Jaysen, Alan Gasmer, Jeff Rosen, and Chalamet. It was executive-produced by Dylan along with Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Andrew Rona.
