Avatar & Marvel Stars’ Action Team-up Movie Finally Hits Digital

The stars of Avatar and Marvel have finally teamed up in a thriller you can stream right now. The cast and director behind the heist film opened up about how the project came together.

Fuze has released on digital streaming

David Mackenzie’s heist thriller Fuze hit Digital platforms on May 26, and you can stream it right now. Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Theo James, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and Sam Worthington lead the cast. The film currently holds a “Certified Fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Set in contemporary London, the plot kicks off when an unexploded World War II bomb emerges at a construction site. Authorities then order a massive citywide evacuation in response. A group of criminals seizes the opportunity to launch a meticulously planned heist.

Mackenzie shared his inspiration for the project in a Variety interview. “I wanted to mash up the tensions of the heist movie with an unexploded bomb movie,” the director explained. He pointed out that such discoveries happen frequently across Britain. “Evacuations are forced, and they’re often blown up in situ. It felt like a very real thing to lean into,” he continued.

Mackenzie also emphasized his goal of delivering a pure genre experience with the project. “With ‘Fuze,’ I just wanted to make something purely entertaining, visceral and cinematic,” he stated. He ultimately described the finished film as “pure cinematic entertainment” without any deeper messaging.

Sam Worthington, who previously worked with Mackenzie on Relay, fought for his role in the film. “I just phoned David and said, ‘What can I do in this one?’ He told me all the roles were gone,” the actor recalled. He then identified a henchman figure in Theo James’ gang as a character worth developing. “I asked him to let me create something, and David gave me that trust,” Worthington added.

Ben Hopkins penned the screenplay, while Saffron Hocking and Elham Ehsas complete the ensemble. Fuze arrives on Blu-Ray and DVD on Tuesday, July 7.
