Jared Leto’s Skeletor Salary for Masters of the Universe Reported

Jared Leto’s reported paycheck for playing Skeletor is turning heads ahead of the film’s release. The actor is said to have earned millions of dollars for the live-action fantasy reboot. The new movie brings He-Man back to theaters with a massive cast and a big-budget scale, with fans closely watching how Leto fits into the long-awaited franchise revival.

How much did Jared Leto get paid for Masters of the Universe?

According to a report from Puck News, Jared Leto was paid more than $5 million to play Skeletor in the upcoming live-action Masters of the Universe movie. The report claimed the payment likely covered both acting duties and promotional responsibilities for the film. Amazon MGM has not publicly commented on the reported figure.

The movie itself is one of Amazon MGM’s biggest summer releases. The film reportedly carries a production budget of around $175 million and stars Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam, better known as He-Man.

Leto plays the franchise’s iconic villain Skeletor under heavy CGI and prosthetic work. The cast also includes Camila Mendes as Teela, Idris Elba as Duncan/Man-At-Arms, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, and Morena Baccarin as the Sorceress.

The reboot marks another major studio role for Leto, who has spent years balancing acting with music through his band Thirty Seconds to Mars. He won an Academy Award for Dallas Buyers Club and later appeared in projects such as Blade Runner 2049, House of Gucci, Morbius, and Tron: Ares. Over the years, he has become known for playing intense and visually dramatic characters, which makes Skeletor a natural fit for his style.

The upcoming film follows Prince Adam after he returns to Eternia from Earth and takes on Skeletor’s growing threat. Director Travis Knight, who previously made Bumblebee and Kubo and the Two Strings, is leading the project. The first trailer, released in March 2026, showed large-scale action, the Power Sword, and He-Man’s transformation sequence.
