Nobody Will Be Surprised by Ludacris’ Fast & Furious 11 Update
Ludacris just gave his most honest Fast Forever update yet, and it says everything without saying much at all. The actor revealed where things stand with the franchise’s final chapter during a candid interview at the 2026 AMAs.
Ludacris doesn’t say much about Fast Forever in his new update
Ludacris offered a candid but limited update on Fast Forever during a Variety interview at the 2026 AMAs. The actor and rapper admitted he has not seen a script for the franchise’s final installment. He told Variety, “I’m being honest with you. They can look in my eyes and tell when I’m telling the truth or not.”
Ludacris confirmed Universal has placed Fast Forever on the calendar for a March 2028 release. However, he revealed that production has not begun and no shooting dates exist yet. He stated plainly, “We do not have dates of shooting yet. I’m telling you all the truth.”
The actor added a timeline condition for the film’s viability. He explained that filming would need to begin by the end of 2026 for a 2028 release. He said, “Hopefully it’ll happen. We would have to be shooting by the end of this year if it was gonna happen.” He also briefly acknowledged spin-off television shows, saying, “I just heard about that, man. We shall see.”
Ludacris confirmed he visited Vin Diesel’s home just two days before the interview. The interviewer pressed him on how he could leak details after visiting Diesel. He maintained his position firmly and repeated that no dates or scripts had reached him yet.
The interview also touched on whether Fast Forever would truly end the franchise. Ludacris deflected the question and pointed to his producer credit on the film. He said, “You guys gonna keep asking. I’m a producer on the film. You know, I wish I could answer all these questions.” Fast Forever remains officially set as the concluding chapter of the main Fast and Furious timeline. Louis Leterrier returns to direct after helming Fast X.
Vin Diesel announced the title and release date in January 2026.
