New Netflix Thriller From Makers of The Eternaut Gets Trailer & Release Date
Netflix has released the trailer and poster for a new Spanish thriller from the makers of The Eternaut. The film is called La Desconocida in Spanish, and will be known as The Marked Woman in other territories.
According to the streamer, the story “follows detective Anna Ripoll (Candela Peña), who is assigned to a case involving a woman (Ana Rujas) found bound and gagged inside a shipping container at the Port of Barcelona.”
“The victim has no memory of who she is or what happened to her. Alongside officer Quique Zárate (Pol López), Ripoll’s investigation quickly turns into a race against time to uncover the woman’s identity and piece together the truth,” reads the synopsis.

The trailer starts off with the inciting incident, where detective Ripoll takes charge of a case involving a potential trafficking victim from the Port of Barcelona. The woman claims that she has no recollection of her identity or any memories. The shipping container, originating from Algeciras, is not listed in any records, thus deepening the mystery of the situation.

Besides Peña, Rujas and López, the film’s cast includes Manolo Solo, Luka Peros, and Kira Miró. It is directed by Gabe Ibáñez from a screenplay by Lara Sendim. The Marked Woman is produced by K&S Films, with Matías Mosteirín and Pola Zito as executive producers.
Gabe Ibáñez also directed four episodes of Muted, another Spanish Netflix original film. Sendim’s previous works include The Last Night at Tremore Beach, God’s Crooked Lines, and the hit thriller Mirage.

The Marked Woman is an adaptation of the eponymous novel by Rosa Montero and Olivier Truc. K&S Films previously produced The Eternaut, which holds a respectable 96% on Rotten Tomatoes based on 24 reviews. The studio also produced acclaimed films like Relatos Salvajes, El Clan, El Ángel, Acusada, La Odisea de los Giles, and Belén. As for shows, K&S also produced El Reino and División Palermo.
The Marked Woman will be released on June 5, 2026, exclusively on Netflix.
