Call of Duty Game Star Would Love to ‘Hop Into’ Taylor Sheridan Movie
A lead actor from the Call of Duty video game franchise has shown interest in joining Taylor Sheridan’s upcoming movie adaptation. The performer, who appears on the cover of the latest Black Ops instalment, says he is ready for a conversation with the creative team behind the Paramount Pictures project.
Y’lan Noel addresses the prospects of appearing in Taylor Sheridan’s Call of Duty movie
While promoting his crime thriller Nemesis, Y’lan Noel addressed whether he might appear in a Call of Duty movie. The actor, who plays CIA operative Troy Marshall in Black Ops 6 and 7, said the people involved with the film are a major draw for him. He made it clear he would welcome the opportunity.
“I mean, I did the video game. My face is on the cover of the video game. Why wouldn’t I hop into that territory, too, if that’s what was meant to be?” Noel told Screenrant. “It’s fun. And I think that that was the job that got me the most kudos with my younger cousins, being in a Call of Duty, bro. They don’t care about the plays and all the other stuff. ‘You in a video game? All right, cuz, you got it.'”
Noel’s debut happened in Black Ops 6, where Marshall is a main character in a CIA team investigating Pantheon, a paramilitary group with suspected ties to the agency. After a cliffhanger ending, he returned for Black Ops 7 as an older colonel leading a squad called Specter One. The sequel jumps ahead to 2035, leaving more than 40 years of Marshall’s life unexplored on screen.
Now, the Call of Duty movie is being co-written and co-produced by Taylor Sheridan alongside director Peter Berg. The release date is set for June 30, 2028. It remains unclear whether Sheridan and Berg plan to adapt a specific game or build an original narrative. If the filmmakers choose the route to be more faithful to the source, Noel’s character could be a natural addition.
